Belize City construction worker out on bail after domestic dispute with ex

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A construction worker from the Saint Martin De Porres area of Belize City is out on bail following a domestic dispute with his estranged common-law wife. Anthony Leroy Sabido, 41, of Moya & Berry Street, appeared in Court #6 on Monday, charged with wounding. The incident took place on July 28, 2024.

Sabido, who had not faced court in a decade, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The magistrate granted him bail with conditions, including no contact with his ex or her family, no contact with prosecution witnesses, and staying 100 yards away from the complainant. Bail was set at $1,500 plus one surety. Sabido is scheduled to return to court on September 23, 2024.
