By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said that police has reopened the investigation into the murder of Imari Galvez and may make an arrest soon in the case.
A new investigator has been appointed, and a special team reviewing cold murder cases will also examine Galvez’s case.
During an interview with 7 News, Williams said that a new investigator has been appointed with hopes of gathering enough evidence to charge someone.
“I met with family members the mother and the father and I appointed a new investigator that is now being looked at by the special team that I put together following the SOE and we are making very, very slow progress. I am hoping that we will be able to reach the stage that we gather sufficient evidence to be able to charge someone,” Williams said.
Galvez, who disappeared in May 2023, was found dead 24 hours later on a road off the Hummingbird Highway.
Despite questioning several individuals, no charges have been filed.
