By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (NMS) forecasts a generally fair and warm day across the country, with ample sunshine and only isolated showers or thunderstorms expected. Coastal areas can expect temperatures to reach a high of 91°F (33°C), while inland and hill regions will experience slightly cooler temperatures of 96°F (36°C) and 84°F (29°C), respectively.
Winds will be blowing from the east to southeast at 5-10 knots, with slight seas and waves reaching 1-3 feet.
However, the NMS advises that a tropical wave currently moving through the southwestern Caribbean Sea could bring increased moisture and instability to the region. This could result in a gradual increase in shower and thunderstorm activity, particularly along coastal areas, starting late Thursday night.
The NMS will continue to monitor this system and provide updates as necessary. Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather forecasts and be prepared for potential changes in conditions.
