By Horace Palacio: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami is keeping a close watch on a tropical wave currently moving through the southwestern Caribbean Sea. While the system is not expected to strengthen immediately, forecasters predict it could reach the Gulf of Mexico by the weekend and potentially impact Belize with increased rainfall.
The NHC gives this system a low chance of development in the next 48 hours, but there’s a 10% chance it could form into a tropical depression or storm within the next seven days.
Stay tuned to local weather reports for updates on this developing system.
