Ministry of E-Governance celebrate completion of Digital Inclusion Programme Phase One

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On August 9, 2024, the Fort George Digital Connect Center hosted a celebration marking the successful completion of the first phase of Belize’s Digital Inclusion Programme.

The E-Governance and Digitalization Unit, in partnership with Taiwan in Belize and the UNDP, announced the launch of 14 Digital Connect Centers nationwide and the training of over 356 youth in essential digital skills.

The event also honored the local community partners who manage these centers.

Looking ahead, the next phase, in collaboration with UNDP Belize, will focus on providing digital skills training to seniors across the country.

“Together, these efforts are working to bridge the digital divide in Belize,” the Ministry of E-Governance noted.
