By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The EZ Griga Conquerors defeated Orange Walk’s Mi Gente of Guinea Grass 3-2 in the second leg of the National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (NAIC) Semifinals on Saturday, August 10, at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga, advancing to the tournament finals.

The EZ Griga Conquerors reached the finals with a 5-4 aggregate score after a 2-2 draw in the first leg against Mi Gente on Sunday, August 4, at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk.

The Dangriga club took a 3-0 lead on goals by Darrol Lambey in the 15^th minute, Aaron Estero in the 21^st, and Daijon Daniels in the 54^th. Lambey and Estero also scored in the first leg.

Mi Gente responded immediately after the Conquerors’ third goal when Miguel Yco shook the net in the 55^th minute. Seven minutes later, in the 62^nd, Yco struck again, but despite their efforts, Mi Gente couldn’t pull off the draw.

The EZ Griga Conquerors will now tackle the San Pedro Terror Squad in the Finals. Terror Squad proved too much for the Toledo Legends, advancing with a 4-1 aggregate score.
