By Horace Palacio: Belizeans are waking up to a Monday morning filled with cloudy skies and the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms. The National Meteorological Service has issued a weather advisory, cautioning residents to be prepared for periods of light to moderate rain, particularly across the northern and central regions of the country.
While the day may start with some sunny breaks, the overall forecast predicts unsettled conditions with a high likelihood of rain. Boaters are also urged to exercise caution as a small craft caution is in effect due to the possibility of gusty winds and rough seas near heavier showers and thunderstorms.
The good news is that no tropical cyclone formation is expected in the next 48 hours, providing some relief amidst the wet weather. However, the Met Service advises everyone to stay updated with the latest forecasts as conditions can change rapidly.
Despite the rain, temperatures are expected to remain warm, with coastal areas reaching highs of 87°F (31°C) and inland areas experiencing even warmer temperatures.

Have a safe and enjoyable Monday!
