Amidst ongoing tensions within UDP, party announces open position for John Saldivar’s Belmopan constituency

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has moved to oust senior UDP members Tracy Panton, Patrick Faber, John Saldivar and Beverly Williams, following a UDP executive meeting on August 28, 2024 where the party decided that they have “constructively resigned.”

The 4 UDP standard bearers announced via social media that they remain UDP and have not resigned.

Now, the UDP has issued a notice for standard bearer applications for Belmopan, a constituency that former Area Representative John Saldivar won in a convention last year.

Amidst the ongoing tensions, UDP supporters are questioning whether the party will be ready and viable to face the 2025 general elections.
