By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine and isolated showers today, according to the latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service. While skies will be predominantly sunny with a few cloudy spells, residents should be prepared for some scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly over inland areas this afternoon and in the south tonight.
Marine conditions will remain favorable for boating and other water activities, with winds blowing from the east-northeast at 5 to 15 knots and light chop creating waves of 2 to 4 feet. Coastal temperatures will reach a high of 90°F (32°C) and drop to a low of 82°F (28°C). Inland areas will experience warmer temperatures, reaching 94°F (34°C) during the day and cooling down to 74°F (23°C) at night.
The good news for beachgoers and outdoor enthusiasts is that the tropical weather outlook remains quiet, with no tropical cyclone formation expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Saturday night are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with only isolated showers or thunderstorms.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay hydrated, especially during the hottest part of the day, and to take precautions if venturing outdoors during periods of potential rainfall.
