Posted: Friday, August 30, 2024. 2:13 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow met with executives from the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), including President Katherine Meighan and CEO Kim Aikman.

The meeting focused on a range of important issues, including tax reform, compliance and enforcement, price control, and multi-sectoral inclusion to enhance government oversight.

The discussion also covered strategies to combat corruption and improve campaign financing laws, all aimed at creating a more supportive environment for business growth.

“Listening to key stakeholders such as the BCCI is important for the UDP as the Government in waiting.

Our policies will be informed by the contribution of all stakeholders,” Barrow expressed.
