By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On August 29, 2024, the Office of The Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Rossana Briceno in collaboration with the Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN) and the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs successfully conducted a vital training session “Engaging Men and Boys to Advance Gender Equality and Help Prevent Gender-Based Violence.”
This impactful event saw the participation of 16 dedicated individuals from the Optimist Club 501 Belize.
“Conducting such training is essential for fostering a safer and more equitable society. In addition to addressing gender equality and violence prevention, the training also included a crucial session on mental health, equipping participants with the knowledge to support those who may be in need,” the Special Envoy explained.
The Special Envoy says that this approach ensures that we are not only building awareness but also empowering our communities to take proactive steps towards well-being and resilience.
