By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect another day of pleasant weather today with plenty of sunshine and only a slight chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly over inland areas during the afternoon or evening hours.
The National Meteorological Service of Belize (NMS) reports a light and relatively moist airflow prevailing across the country. While the day will start with clear skies, a few cloudy spells may develop later on. Coastal areas will enjoy comfortable temperatures, with highs near 90°F and lows around 84°F. Inland regions will experience warmer conditions, reaching up to 96°F, while the hills will remain cooler, with highs around 84°F.
Marine conditions will be favorable for boating and other water activities, with light chop and waves reaching only 2-4 feet. Winds will be out of the east at 5-15 knots.
Looking ahead, the forecast for Tuesday calls for a mix of cloudy spells and isolated showers during the daytime. However, an increase in showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop mainly over the south and along the coast at night.
The NMS is also monitoring a tropical wave located a couple hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles. This disturbance has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression during the next 48 hours.
