By Horace Palacio: All archaeological reserves across Belize are open to the public as of this morning, according to a notice from the Institute of Archaeology (IA) and the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH). However, visitors and tour guides are urged to exercise caution due to wet and slippery conditions on the trails, following recent adverse weather.
The IA also advises that the Xunantunich ferry is operating under limited capacity, allowing only two vehicles to cross at a time to ensure safety.
Authorities continue to closely monitor weather-related impacts on the reserves and will provide updates as necessary. Visitors are encouraged to stay informed and prioritize safety while exploring these historic sites.
