By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) and the Belize City Council is advising that there is an excessive rainfall advisory from the National Meteorological Service.
Excessive rainfall is expected due to a tropical wave that is forecast to reach our area late Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
Heavy rainfall will commence on Friday, which may continue over the next two days.
Rainfall amounts are forecasted to be between 2 to 4 inches tonight and tomorrow, with a decrease of 1 to 2 inches over the weekend.
Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution, as flooding is expected in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
