Police officer charged with wounding common-law wife

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have arrested and charged a 42-year-old police officer with wounding.

The ongoing investigation follows a report made by a 21-year-old woman, who stated that about 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, while in Bella Vista Village, her common-law husband, Gerson Jones, punched her in the face.

A medical officer classified her injuries as wounding. Jones was arrested today and charged with the crime of wounding. He has since been placed on interdiction from active duty.
