Tropical wave forecast to bring heavy rainfall to Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Weather experts at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the National Meteorological Service of Belize are issuing advisories on a tropical wave approaching Belize.

The system is moving over the western Caribbean Sea.

Development is not expected before the system reaches Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula by early Friday. 

Due to the tropical wave, excessive rainfall is expected to affect Belize over the next few days.

Some gradual development is possible late in the weekend into early next week after the system emerges over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico.

Residents are urged to stay tuned to official announcements.
