Belize Men’s National Team ready to face Turks and Caicos Islands on Saturday in Concacaf Nations League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After training on Thursday and Friday in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI), the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT), under new Head Coach Charlie Slusher, is now ready to face Turks and Caicos Islands on Saturday in their first match of the Concacaf Nations League 2024 September matches.

The League C Group B match is set for 1:00 pm (3:00 pm TCI time) at the TCIFA Stadium in Providenciales.

So far, Anguilla has already defeated TCI 2-0 on Wednesday at the same venue on goals by Germain Hughes (58’) and Lamar Carpenter (74’).

Belize will play against Anguilla on Tuesday, September 10, at the same time and venue.

So far, in Group A, the US Virgin Islands drew with Bahamas 3-3 on Wednesday at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex in Charlotte Amalie in the US Virgin Islands, while the Cayman Islands defeated the British Virgin Islands 1-0 at the Truman Bodden Stadium in George Town, Cayman Islands.

On Saturday, Bahamas will play Barbados at 2:00 pm (4:00 pm US Virgin Islands time) and Cayman will face St. Kitts and Nevis at 2:30 pm (3:30 pm Cayman Islands time).

Next month, the BMNT will again travel to Turks and Caicos Islands as the three Group B teams will play the second round at the same venue. The teams in the other groups will do the same.

The three group winners and the best 2nd place (based on their results during the group stage) will be promoted to League B.
