By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Several schools in Belize City and across the country have dismissed students early due to heavy rainfall.

In addition, several of their campuses were flooded.

The City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) and the Belize City Council issued an advisory following the excessive rainfall advisory from the National Meteorological Service.

Excessive rainfall is expected due to a tropical wave approaching Belize.

Heavy rainfall may continue over the next two days.
