Belize Weather Update: Sunny skies prevail with scattered showers

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a mix of sun and clouds today, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible, particularly inland this afternoon and across southern and coastal areas tonight. The National Meteorological Service reports that conditions are becoming less humid, signaling a gradual shift in weather patterns.

Marine conditions remain favorable, with light chop to choppy seas and waves ranging from 2 to 5 feet. Winds are expected to be easterly to southeasterly, blowing at 5 to 15 knots.

Temperatures will vary across the country, with coastal areas experiencing highs near 88°F (31°C) and lows around 80°F (27°C). Inland regions can expect warmer temperatures, reaching up to 91°F (33°C) during the day and cooling down to 74°F (23°C) at night. Hilly areas will see milder conditions, with highs near 79°F (26°C) and lows around 67°F (19°C).

The tropical weather outlook remains quiet, with no tropical cyclone formation anticipated in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.

Looking ahead to Sunday, skies are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible. The chance of rain increases slightly Sunday night, with a few more showers affecting the country.
