By Horace Palacio: The Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional & Political Reform, and Religious Affairs celebrated 23 exceptional public officers on Thursday, each with an impressive 35-year track record of service to Belize and its people. These individuals were formally inducted into the esteemed Belize Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration, a permanent symbol of their dedication and accomplishments within the civil service.
In a groundbreaking move, the Ministry also unveiled the “Keeper of the Flame” award. This unique honor recognizes retired public officers who continue to contribute their skills and passion to Belize even after their official service ends. Former Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer was named the first-ever recipient of this prestigious accolade.
Ms. Frazer, who retired after a distinguished 34 and a half years in the public sector, remains actively engaged in serving her country. Her selection as the inaugural “Keeper of the Flame” highlights her enduring commitment to Belize and its citizens.
