Masked men rob San Pedro barbershop, injure barber

By Horace Palacio: A barber is recovering from gunshot wounds after an armed robbery at his shop in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye last night. Roderick Coleman, 38, was shot in both legs when three masked men stormed his establishment around 10:00 PM.

According to police, Coleman was busy cutting hair when the robbers burst in. One of them demanded to know where the owner was. When Coleman told them the owner wasn’t there, they opened fire, hitting him twice.

The three men then robbed everyone in the shop before running off. Coleman’s injuries, thankfully, aren’t life-threatening, but he’ll need to be flown to Belize City for further treatment.

Police are investigating and urging anyone with information to come forward.
