One person reported dead in vehicle collision on George Price Highway

By Aaron Humes: Two vehicles collided around 12:15 this afternoon in the vicinity of St Matthew’s, Cayo District.

At least one person was confirmed dead and another, named as Jorge Correa, remains seriously injured. Everyone involved was taken to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan.

The vehicles involved were a Ford Explorer SUV and a white minivan. Each had extensive damage on its front portion.

Reportedly traveling in the white van were several tourists and the driver,  while the deceased was traveling in the Ford Explorer.

Police investigations continue at this time.
