Aird, who recently died, was a distinguished Chief Education Officer and principal of Sacred Heart College. His unwavering commitment to educational excellence left a lasting impact on Belize’s educational landscape.

Hernan Ochaeta Awe, another revered educator, also passed away on September 9, 2024. Awe, known for his lifelong dedication and passion for teaching, made a significant contribution to the education community in the Cayo District.

In the world of sports, Alwyn Smith, a legendary football coach in Cayo, has also departed. Smith was instrumental in the success of The Mighty Cayo Avengers F.C.
