By Horace Palacio: Fair weather will dominate across Belize today. Expect a sunny day with a few cloudy spells and clear to partly cloudy skies tonight. Isolated showers or thunderstorms may occur, with a higher chance for a few more showers over the southern parts of the country later in the evening.
Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 5 to 15 knots, creating slight marine conditions with waves ranging from 1 to 3 feet. Temperatures along the coast will peak at 91°F during the day and drop to 83°F at night, while inland areas will see highs around 95°F and lows of 74°F. The hills will be cooler, with temperatures ranging from 80°F during the day to 68°F overnight.
A tropical depression, located near 17.3N and 33.0W, roughly 600 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, is currently packing winds of up to 35 mph and moving west-northwest at 17 mph. While this system is being closely monitored, no immediate threat to Belize is expected.
The forecast for tomorrow mirrors today, with similar weather conditions expected into Friday night.
Tide changes today include a low tide at 12:04 PM and 10:14 PM, with high tides at 6:47 PM today and 4:56 AM tomorrow. Sunrise tomorrow will be at 5:40 AM, and sunset at 5:56 PM. The moon will rise at 1:46 PM today and set at 12:53 AM tomorrow.
