By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service is predicting a day of sunny spells with scattered clouds, gradually becoming cloudier tonight. While most areas will remain dry, there is a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, particularly along the coast this morning, moving inland by the afternoon. Southern regions may experience more showers and thunderstorms later tonight, as the moist easterly airflow continues to dominate the weather pattern.

Marine conditions are expected to stay calm, with winds coming from the east-southeast at 5 to 15 knots. Waves will remain slight, ranging from one to three feet.

Temperatures will vary across the country, with coastal areas experiencing highs of 90°F (32°C) and lows of 84°F (29°C). Inland areas will see hotter temperatures, with daytime highs reaching 95°F (35°C) and nighttime lows dropping to 75°F (24°C). In the hills, expect cooler conditions, with highs of 82°F (28°C) and lows of 68°F (20°C).

Tropical weather systems continue to be monitored. Tropical Depression Gordon is located about 1,020 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands, packing maximum sustained winds of 30 mph as it moves westward at 8 mph. Meanwhile, Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight is located about 85 miles south of Cape Fear, North Carolina, with winds nearing 50 mph, drifting northwest at 3 mph.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, cloudy skies are expected to persist, with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The National Meteorological Service forecasts that activity will intensify, spreading to most areas by Tuesday night.

Tides are expected to rise at 8:17 AM and 9:08 PM, with low tides at 3:13 PM today and 2:53 AM tomorrow. Today’s sunrise was at 5:40 AM, and sunset is set for 5:53 PM. The moon will rise at 5:05 PM today and set at 5:06 AM tomorrow.
