Kaite Jones named MVP as Corozal Elite win Women’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Kaite Jones of Corozal Elite FC was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after leading her team to the Women’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship (WNAIC). Jones closed off the season scoring the opening goal in the final, which Corozal Elite won 3-2 over Red Bank Scarlet Girls at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan on Saturday evening, September 14.

The victory marked a significant achievement for Corozal Elite, highlighting their resilience and skill throughout the tournament. Jones’ performance was instrumental in their success, earning her the MVP award for her outstanding contributions on the field.

In addition to the MVP award, other individual honors were also presented to Corozal Elite players. Norielly Terry-Herrador won the Top Goalscorer award, while Ahniyah Cocom was voted the Best Goalkeeper.

The Women’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship not only celebrated the triumph of Corozal Elite but also showcased the growing talent and competitive spirit in Belizean women’s football. The dedication and hard work of all the players, coaches, and organizers were evident in several competitive matches throughout the tournament.
