Stamp duty exemptions announced for mortgages under $100,000

By Aaron Humes: During today’s State of the Nation address Prime Minister John Briceño announced that mortgages under 100 thousand dollars will soon see an exemption in stamp duty.  

Three years ago, the Briceño Administration had afforded this exemption to public officers during cuts to salaries and freezing of increments.  It addressed the government’s then cost-saving measure due to the then state of the economy.

The P.M. said the measure would support homeowners, small businesses and small farmers.
