Machete chopping leaves youth injured in Caye Caulker

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Caye Caulker Tuesday night that left three youths injured.

Police responded to a report at a pier in the village at about 8:36 p.m. Upon arrival, they observed 18-year-old Darren Estrada suffering from stab wounds. 

Initial inquiries revealed that Estrada and two minors, were riding their bicycles toward the Bahia Area when they were attacked by three men who were armed with machetes. As a result, all three youths were injured.

Estrada was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in Belize City for medical treatment, while the two minors are reported to be in stable condition.
