By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Following Verdes’ decision to play their Week 7 match on Independence Day Eve, Friday, September 20, the San Pedro Pirates have also opted to move their match against the Belmopan Bandits to Friday.
The match, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now take place on Friday at 7:30 pm at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro. Entrance to the game will cost $15, with free admission for children under 10.
Verdes will be playing the ‘Battle for 1st Place’ match against leaders Progresso on Independence Day Eve at 8:00 pm at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen. This game was initially scheduled for Sunday at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
Even though the Wagiya-Port Layola match remains scheduled for Sunday, September 22, at 4:00 pm at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga, it had already undergone a change. The first-round match between these clubs was supposed to be in Dangriga, but due to Port Layola’s international commitments, both teams agreed to switch their home games. Port’s home match was played later than the original date but in Belmopan at the FFB Stadium instead of the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. Now, they return the favor and travel to Dangriga on Sunday for their return match. Entrance fee will be $10.
