Belize open 1st Central American U17 Women’s Championship against Costa Rica

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize U17 Women’s National Team will be facing Costa Rica in their first game in the inaugural Central American U17 Women’s Championship, organized by the Association of Central American Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL) in Managua, Nicaragua, next week.

Belize will tackle powerhouse Costa Rica at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 24, at the Nicaragua’s Volleyball Gymnasium of the National Institute of Sports (IND) in Managua.

Here is Belize’s full schedule:

Tuesday, September 24

• 1:30 pm: Costa Rica vs Belize

Wednesday, September 25

• 1:30 pm: Belize vs Guatemala

Thursday, September 26

• 6:30 pm: Belize vs Nicaragua

Friday, September 27

• 4:00 pm: Belize vs Honduras

Saturday, September 28

• 1:30 pm: Belize vs El Salvador

AFECAVOL said the inaugural event is important to the development of women’s volleyball in the region and responds to a joint initiative by Central American nations to align their youth categories with international standards.

AFECAVOL said all matches will be broadcast live on NicaSports en YouTube.
