By Aaron Humes: This morning at Mile 6 on the Hummingbird Highway, at the turnoff to the Southern Highway near Dangriga, there was a collision involving a bus from the Polanco bus line and a 2010 Toyota Tundra.
The bus, bearing license plate # SC D 1806, was found in the middle of the highway with a broken front windshield, left bumper dent, rearview mirror, and left front light. Meanwhile, the Toyota Tundra was seen on the right side of the road with damage to the passenger and driver doors, a broken left rearview mirror, and a shattered back windshield.
None of the bus’ passengers were injured. However, the driver of the red Toyota Tundra, identified as Evan Innis Roller Hall, 70 years old, and a Belizean self-employed resident of Placencia Village, sustained an abrasion to the left shoulder. He was promptly transported to Southern Regional Hospital via ambulance.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident and are urging all drivers to exercise caution on the roads, especially in light of this incident.
