Embassy of Belize celebrates 35 years of Diplomatic Relations with Taiwan through Art Competition

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On September 26, 2024, the Embassy of Belize in the Republic of China (Taiwan), in partnership with the Central America Trade Office (CATO), hosted an award ceremony to honor the winners of its Painting Competition.

This event commemorated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belize and Taiwan, encouraging participants to explore themes reflecting the friendship between the two nations in their artwork.

The competition featured two groups: elementary and university students.

In the elementary group, Chen Ping Yen from Siwei Elementary School took first place, followed by Lin Yu Fei from Jisui Elementary School in second, and Lu Han Che from Wan Fang Elementary School in third.

In the university category, the top prize went to Wang Yu Hsin from Taipei National University of the Arts.

The Embassy of Belize and Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts congratulated all 4 winners, expressing gratitude for their artistic contributions that celebrate the longstanding friendship between Belize and Taiwan.
