By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Splash’s Christopher Broaster outran the field on a rainy Sunday morning to win the 4th Annual Men’s Belize City 10K, organized by the Belize City Council in collaboration with Councillor Kaya Cattouse, the National Sports Council of Belize, Total Time Belize, and the Belize National Triathlon Association.
“Big ups to all the volunteers and racers that gathered early [Sunday] morning,” the Belize City Council said in a social media post.
Broaster, who hails from Belmopan, clocked 43 minutes and 50.2 seconds (0:43:50.2) for the 10-kilometre race. His teammate Kliuvert Cal from San Miguel, Toledo, ran in second in 0:44:07.8.
Third place was taken by Westrac Slick Runners’ Kenroy Westby from Placencia, who was right behind, in 0:44:10.4. Stonefit Club’s Stone Mariano from Belize City was fourth in 0:47:04.3. Izon Gill from Dangriga came in fifth in 0:48:54.4.
All 12 who started the race finished. Two runners who registered didn’t compete.
