Alliance for Democracy moves to oust Moses “Shyne” Barrow as party leader

By Aaron Humes: The Alliance for Democracy issued a press release today in an attempt to oust Moses “Shyne” Barrow as the Party Leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP). The press release was issued using the UDP letterhead.

While Barrow maintains he is still the legitimate Party Leader of the UDP, the Alliance for Democracy (AFD) maintains that their leader Tracey Taegar-Panton is in charge and in its release claims that Barrow is stripped of his authority to act on behalf of the Party including soliciting and collecting funds in its name.

At a convention held on Sunday in Belize City, which the current UDP executive labelled as illegal, the majority of delegates attending voted, among other things, to recall Barrow and elevate Taegar-Panton as the Interim Party Leader.
