Former UDP Minister Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez says ‘it’s ova now’ for Moses “Shyne” Barrow as party leader

By Aaron Humes: Accusing his erstwhile boss of acting to move their party toward “dictatorship”, Anthony “Boots” Martinez brought his complaints to the very seat of party power – it’s headquarters on Youth for the Future Drive.

This morning, Martinez set up his tent for the press in front of party headquarters and began assailing Moses “Shyne” Barrow, even suggesting he doesn’t think he’s really a millionaire and that he may be fudging aspects of his life growing up in Belize before moving to the United States.

But closer to home, Martinez alleges that Barrow has ignored party conventions and assigned decisions to some bodies that did not have the authority to make them.

Martinez contends that senior members of the party must now intervene and recognize Sunday’s convention organized by the Alliance for Democracy (AFD) and which elected Tracey Taegar-Panton as interim party leader while recalling Barrow as leader, a decision he rejects.

Martinez complained that Barrow has cast aside many in the party of greater intellect and experience than him and jeopardized the party’s chances of success.
