Rodri’s remarkable season saw him play a pivotal role in Manchester City’s triumphs in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. His consistent performances in midfield, characterized by his defensive solidity and precise passing, were instrumental in City’s domestic and European successes.

Real Madrid boycotted the awards ceremony when they got wind that frontrunner Vinícius Júnior wouldn’t win the award. No Madrid players nor staff members attended. Vinícius was announced as second with teammate Jude Bellingham third in the ranking.
