By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) Belize is carrying out a Sensitization Workshop for farmers in the Belize District in November, aiming to help farmers improve their level and quality of production.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE), the Belize District Department of Agriculture is inviting farmers in the Maskall and Lucky Strike areas to the CARDI Sensitization Workshop on Wednesday, November 6.

“Sensitization efforts are ongoing, inviting farmers from surrounding communities at both selected venues,” MAFSE said in a statement posted on social media.

“The event will feature presentations on research findings for grains, legumes, and root crops, focusing on promoting good agricultural practices and introducing new technologies aimed at improving yields and building resilience to the impacts of climate change.”

Farmers will have the opportunity to learn about various services offered by agricultural research organizations, including technical assistance, post-harvest technology, integrated pest management, and value chain research and analysis.

Participants are encouraged to attend these informative sessions to gain access to the latest advancements in agriculture and to network with experts in the field. For more information, interested individuals can contact the Belize District Department of Agriculture.
