Shyne Barrow meets with Standard Bearers across Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow is meeting with standard bearers in the north, south and west of Belize.

The UDP Belize Facebook page posted photos of Barrow along with standard bearers from several constituencies.

Given the recent developments, a statement on the same UDP page bearing the UDP letterhead condemned what it referred to as the “criminal takeover” of the UDP headquarters.

“The actions of the Panton/Saldivar Alliance are dangerous attacks on Democracy and have created circumstances that could have led to bloodshed.

The actions of Panton/Saldivar demonstrate a frightening disregard for the rule of law and an insatiable hunger for power by any means even if criminal or violent,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Chester Williams also said that he had advised that the matter be taken to court.
