51-year-old Belize City man found stabbed in attempted murder

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man was hospitalized after being stabbed on Friday night.

Around 9:40 pm police visited the Accident and Emergency Department at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they observed an elderly male person being attended to by doctors. He was identified as Mark Usher, 51, of Belama Phase 3, Belize City.

Police were informed that Usher was brought to the KHMH by a male taxi driver, who informed the security that he was driving somewhere on Vernon Street, when he was stopped by a male person who he later realized was bleeding.

Police observed Usher with a stab wound to the body and he remains hospitalized, listed in a critical but stable condition.

Investigations continue.
