By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On October 31, Vice President Kamala Harris joined the renowned norteño band Los Tigres del Norte at a concert in Phoenix to encourage early voting in Arizona ahead of the November 5 election, Courthouse news report.
The band, known for its political messages, rallied a crowd of nearly 20,000, urging attendees to make their voices heard.
“We are proud to be here in Arizona supporting Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz” Los Tigres accordion player Jorge Hernandez told the crowd “Make sure your friends and family have a plan to vote by Nov. 5 so we make our voices heard.”
Harris emphasized the need for new leadership, contrasting her approach with Donald Trump’s.
“It is time for a new generation of leadership in America,” Harris said.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego welcomed attendees, highlighting the importance of the upcoming election and celebrating the Biden-Harris administration’s job creation efforts in Arizona.
Other speakers, including Governor Katie Hobbs and Senator Mark Kelly, echoed calls for voter action, particularly to protect reproductive rights.
