By Horace Palacio: The Belize Defence Force (BDF) proudly celebrated the graduation of Recruit Intake 67, as the new soldiers completed their initial training and marched across the Sir Colville Young Parade Square. This achievement marks an important milestone for the young men and women who embarked on their training journey on June 30.
Over the past few months, the recruits underwent rigorous training that tested their physical endurance, mental resilience, and team-building skills. Along the way, they mastered essential military tactics and refined their weapon handling, embracing the discipline and values that define the Belize Defence Force.
BDF officials highlighted the importance of this new cohort, expressing pride in their achievements and welcoming them to the ranks. Special acknowledgments were given to Champion Recruit Jeffrey Paredes and Naomi Baki, as well as Champion PT honorees Keiron Cal and Giselle August. Nixon Coc received the title of Champion Shot, and Michael Palacio was recognized for Best Drill.
“This is just the beginning for our new soldiers,” a BDF representative stated. “The future is bright, and we’re proud to stand beside them in service to Belize.”
The ceremony not only marks the recruits’ successful training completion but also the start of their journey as part of Belize’s defense force.
