Police search for three suspects in Shawn Ortiz murder

By Aaron Humes: Police investigating the stabbing murder of Shawn Albert Ortiz Campbell, 42, are looking for three suspects who got into a fatal fight with him and another.

Ortiz, from Fern Lane, Belize City, is a taxi driver who was fatally assaulted earlier this morning, Monday.

According to police, sometime after 3:00 a.m., while Shawn Ortiz and another person were leaving after socializing at Stephen’s Place, formerly known as Radiance Cool Spot on Jaguar Street, Faber’s Road Extension, Belize City, he and a group of male persons got into a scuffle a short distance from Stephen’s Place, and he was stabbed.

He was transported to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 4:50 a.m.

Ortiz was not previously known to police and a motive has not yet been established.
