Man accused of kissing boss’s wife while she slept remanded on sexual assault charge

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Entychus Thomas Nunez, a 30-year-old from the Kings Park area of Belize City, has been remanded on a charge of sexual assault after allegedly kissing his boss’s wife while she slept. Nunez appeared in court this morning, where he initially pleaded guilty, claiming that the woman, a 50-year-old food vendor, had asked him to kiss her. However, he later disputed the facts of the case, prompting the Magistrate to enter a not-guilty plea on his behalf and set the matter for trial.

According to the allegations, the incident occurred early on November 30, when the woman awoke to find Nunez kissing her. She reportedly pushed him away, feeling fearful and disrespected. With no objections from the prosecution, Nunez was granted bail of $2,000 under strict conditions, including that he stay at least 100 yards from the complainant and relocate to avoid proximity to her home.

Unable to post bail, Nunez has been remanded at Belize Central Prison. His trial date is scheduled for January 6, 2025.
