By Horace Palacio: Belize is set to enjoy another beautiful day as fair and dry conditions dominate the forecast. Today’s weather calls for sunny skies, with only a few clouds expected to appear later tonight. Any rainfall will be sparse and isolated, ensuring a dry and pleasant day for all.
For those heading out to sea, the marine forecast offers calm waters with light, variable winds. Gentle waves of 1 to 3 feet make for smooth sailing, whether you’re fishing, diving, or simply enjoying a day on the water. Coastal temperatures will peak at 88°F during the day, cooling to 77°F at night. Inland areas will feel the heat with highs reaching 92°F, while nighttime will bring a comfortable 71°F. Up in the hills, the air will be refreshingly cool, with daytime temperatures around 81°F and dipping to 67°F overnight.
Attention remains on Hurricane Rafael, a formidable Category 3 system. As of 3:00 AM, the storm was located 245 miles north-northeast of Progreso, Mexico, moving west at 9 mph. With sustained winds of 120 mph, Rafael is a force to be reckoned with, but its current trajectory keeps it well away from Belize.
The outlook for Saturday promises more of the same sunny, dry conditions, giving Belizeans another perfect day to enjoy. Today’s tides start with a low at 9:39 AM, followed by a high at 4:17 PM. Another low tide is expected at 8:31 PM, with tomorrow morning’s high tide at 2:49 AM. The sun rises at 5:54 AM and sets at 5:18 PM, while the moon graces the sky from 12:05 PM to 11:34 PM.
