By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Olympic Day Run 2024 is set for Sunday, November 10, after a five-month delay.
Bad weather caused the postponement in June, but the Belize Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (BOCGA) is now ready to celebrate the Olympic spirit with a special run on Sunday.
“Join us as we unite for health, fitness, and fun—bring your energy and let’s make this a day to remember,” BOCGA said.
The Olympic Day Run starts and finishes at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. After registration which starts at 8:00 am, the run takes off at 9:00 am.
Participants are encouraged to bring their energy and enthusiasm to make this a memorable day.
The Olympic Day which has been celebrated since 1948, celebrates the founding of the International Olympic Day (IOC) on June 23, 1894, in Paris, France, where Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Day Run, which is the main activity of the Olympic Day, has been celebrated since 1987. This Sunday, November 10, BOCGA will finally be able to hold this year’s edition.
