By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan Dr. Candice Pitts joined Deputy Foreign Minister of Taiwan, Chung Kwang Tien, and other government officials at the luncheon to welcome back the Youth Ambassadors of the 2024 International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Program, which was hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Pitts encouraged the Youth Ambassadors to assist Belize and Taiwan to facilitate people to people understanding between their peoples and their cultures in their families, classrooms, circles of friends, work places, places of worship, and communities.
Ambassador Pitts also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all the coordinators for organizing such a meaningful and impactful program that afforded these 50 students the fortunate opportunity to travel to different countries to learn about these countries, their histories, their peoples, and their cultures, with a view to broaden these students’ horizon and to give them an appreciation for and awareness of countries and peoples outside of their own.
The 50 Youth Ambassador participated in a productive trip to Belize from August 22nd to 26th, 2024.
