By Horace Palacio: Residents and visitors in Belize can expect generally fair weather conditions across most of the country today. The National Meteorological Service forecasts sunny skies with some cloudy spells, providing a pleasant start to the week.
While most areas will remain dry, isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, particularly over inland and southern regions during the afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will be warm, reaching a high of 88°F (31°C) along the coast and 92°F (33°C) inland.
The marine forecast predicts light and variable winds with slight sea conditions and waves reaching 1-3 feet, making for favorable boating and water activities.
Looking ahead, Tuesday and Tuesday night will see partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, especially in the south.
The National Meteorological Service is closely monitoring a broad area of low pressure that may develop over the western Caribbean Sea in the coming week, but currently, no tropical cyclone formation is expected within the next 48 hours.
