By Aaron Humes: At approximately 12:30 this morning, Tuesday, November 12, shots were fired at the residence of Martin Marin, Corporal of Police, shared by Police Inspector Kimara Lopez, which is located in the Finca Solana area of Corozal Town.
According to Marin, at around 11:30 p.m., he was getting ready to go to bed when he heard four loud bangs, which he recognized immediately as gunshots. As a result, he came out of his cement bungalow house and heard the sound of a motorcycle engine leaving the area, heading towards the Family Market area.
Bullet holes were seen in Inspector Lopez’s SUV white four-door Jeep Cherokee SUV in the rear, one of which exited through the front windshield. Also observed was a bullet hole on the front wooden screen door which exited and hit the front wooden door.
Police continue their investigations.
