Santa Elena Health Center resumes Outpatient Services

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Santa Elena Health Center has officially resumed outpatient services, effective Monday, November 11, 2024.

This marks a welcome return for many in the surrounding community who had previously faced challenges due to the distance to the San Ignacio Community Hospital.

In response to public calls for the reinstatement of services at the Santa Elena Health Center, the San Ignacio Community Hospital has announced the reopening of the outpatient department to better serve the local population.

The reopening comes after concerns were raised about the accessibility of healthcare for residents of Santa Elena and surrounding areas, particularly in light of the long commute to the San Ignacio Hospital.

The newly resumed outpatient services will be available with the following schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Weekends and Public Holidays: Closed

The community is encouraged to make use of the services during the new hours of operation.
