Status of Roads, Ferries, and Bridges across Belize on Friday, November 22

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As of Friday, November 22, 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mining has updated the status of several key roads, ferries, and bridges across Belize. This comprehensive update highlights accessibility in various areas and villages within the Orange Walk, Belize, and Cayo Districts.

Orange Walk District:

  • San Antonio Village:
    • San Antonio Road: Accessible, but not to heavy-duty trucks.

Belize District:

  • Grace Bank:
    • Grace Bank Main Access Road: Impassable for small vehicles.
  • Crooked Tree:
    • Crooked Tree Main Access Road: Impassable.
  • Lucky Strike:
    • Lucky Strike Main Access Road: Impassable for small vehicles.
  • Free Town Sibun:
    • Free Town Sibun Main Access Road: Impassable.
  • May Pen:
    • May Pen Main Access Road: Impassable.
  • Flowers Bank:
    • Main Access Road: Impassable for small vehicles.
  • Bomba:
    • Main Access Road: Impassable for small vehicles.
  • Rancho Dolores:
    • Main Access Road: Impassable for all vehicles.
  • Sunset Park Western Paradise Community:
    • Community Access Road: Impassable for small vehicles.
    • Secondary Community Access Road: Accessible

Cayo District:

  • San Ignacio and Santa Elena:
    • Low Lying Bridge: Closed.
  • Central Farm:
    • Baking Port Ferry: Closed.
  • Blackman Eddy:
    • Iguana Creek Bridge: Closed.
  • San Jose Succotz Village:
    • Xunantunich Ferry: Closed.
  • Calla Creek:
    • Main Access Road: Accessible.
  • Bullet Tree Falls:
    • Salvador Hernandez Bridge: Accessible
  • Santa Familia Village:
    • Santa Familia Main Access Road: Accessible.

Belmopan & Surrounding Villages:

  • More Tomorrow Village:
    • More Tomorrow Main Access Road: Impassable

Residents and travelers are advised to take note of these updates and plan their routes accordingly. Impassable roads indicate significant obstacles or damage making them unusable at this time.
